The EPA estimates that air inside homes can be three to five times more polluted than outdoor air. Home building products, furnishings, paint, furniture, carpet, air fresheners, toys, and your families day-to-day living produces many pollutants that live with us and get into our lungs with every breath we take. We are exposed to the air we breath 100 percent of our life-time. Your air quality affects allergies, asthma, focus, sleep quality, skin health, and your overall health. There are several key factors in poor indoor air quality, including cleaning, cooking, home ventilation, air conditioning, and most importantly, high levels of humidity, air toxins, gases, and smoke.
The best way to ensure you and your family are breathing fresh, clean air is to monitor the quality of the air and make adjustments to help maintain its quality. One Green Solution introduces The AWAIR 2nd Edition. The air quality monitoring system that lets you see the invisible.
This elegantly designed discovery of modern smart technology is your first line of defense in keeping your family breathing healthy as it alerts you if the air in your home becomes contaminated. Awair tracks invisible fine dust and chemicals in your air and gives you personalized recommendations to help you stay safe and healthy.
Awair identifies the five key factors that determine your air quality:
- Fine Dust
- Co2 Readings
At a glance, you can see your air quality on the Awair display or your phone by using the Awair App. Your Awair Score is a color-coded scale that lets you know the quality of your air. The scale is from 0 to 100, with 0 being ‘poor’ air quality and 100 being very healthy.
Even down to the design, Awair keeps its word on embracing an eco-friendly and wellness driven philosophy. Awair carefully selected and handcrafted high quality North American walnut timber. Each unit made of 100% toxin-free natural materials.
Breathe easy because Awair also works with other devices like Nest, Alexa, and Google Home to automatically keep your air clean and healthy.
The 6.3-by-2-by-3.5-inch unit is perfectly sized for a home on a nightstand, bookshelf, or kitchen counter. Wherever you place the Awair, be sure you have a clear line of sight, as it displays levels of the five air-quality metrics it monitors right on the device itself. It does this using a charmingly old-school method: a set of LEDs shining through a grid of holes in the device’s front panel to form the numbers, letters, and graphs that indicate these levels.
The Awair monitors for a general comfort level, but you can select different preferences in the app settings to tailor air-quality levels for allergies, sleep, productivity, or babies.
On a separate tab, the app displays graphs for each metric on which it plots your hour-by-hour score for the currently selected day. It also shows each metric’s daily average. The app also provides “tips” on a dedicated tab for keeping your air quality healthy.
Awair’s smart home integration adds an extra level of convenience. Instead of having to open the Awair app when you're out of visual range of the device, you could just tell Google Assistant “Ask Awair about my air quality” to get the overall score, or “Ask Awair for the temperature” to see if it was time to turn on the air conditioning. You can use similar commands with Amazon Alexa.
Whether you want insight into your indoor air quality for reasons of health or comfort, the Awair is a solid choice. Its accurate real-time readings deliver plenty of data to make necessary changes in your home or your habits. Out-of-the-box integration with more smart thermostats and other appliances that can impact air quality, however, would be welcome additions to its capabilities.
